Lost Login
Lets see who else they book first before starting to castigate. There are after all another four nights to fill and hopefully there will be a arrange of music and acts over the six nights to please most people. Although not my cup of tea Robin Gibb was always going to fill one night and as apparently Chris Norman who is on the same bill is very popular in Germany it may not be a bad billing considering the number who come to the TT from Germany etc. Trbute bans are always slightly disappointing as I prefer to see the real thing but as they go the Bootleg Beatles are about the best there is. I do not know anything about the Stones tribute band but at least they are one step ahead of the "Rock the ROCK" guys as at least they have announced the venue and some bands. The main thing that disappoints me is the timing as I would have liked to see it outside the TT. This is partly as it ties in with school holidays so I may be off the Island, that will apply to many locals who either are escaping the TT or making use of the school holidays, but also if I am here there is plenty normally going on by way of entertainment though. In addition even if the other acts are big draws it is going to do nothing in terms of visitors as the Island is already going to be fairly full anyway so I hope the government are not putting to much money up by way of grants if any. Full marks though to the guys for organising and putting up a decent venue and I hope it is a success even if the bands are not my cup of tea as hopefully in fututure years they will give it another go. Agreed. Personally though I was dissapointed with the announcement this afternoon. The IOM specialises in either tribute bands or old artists who used to be in.... But fair play to the organisers. Lost Login
Be fair though we got Snow Patrol last year although this was for TT. Again this could have been put on outside the TT period if they were available as by the time any visitors had arrived the tckets had long sold out. Great it sold out but there did not seem to be much point in advertising and putting on the entertainment for TT and the visitors if most of the tickets went to locals long before any of the vistors heard about it. You could have done that any weekend of the year. Agreed. Personally though I was dissapointed with the announcement this afternoon. enCrypt
Hmmm, I wonder who the next bands to be announced will be? Who wants to bet its at least one of the following... Suzi Qualtrough Steve Gibbons Quim Was looking forward to someone half decent, think I'll be giving this a wide berth now!

The Bastard
Talk about disappointed. What a complete shower of sh*te. Chris Norman and Robin Gibb, both potentially local residents. A 10,000 seater marquee and some has-beens & tribute bands that would have difficulty filling the Saddle. The organisers should be ashamed, frankly. Cret
So the Who rumour was just a bundle of hype then as expected? Shame - I would like to have seen them.

No todays paper says The Who Bryan Adams Robin Gibb Madness Who are these people trying to fool! They reel off all these names and we know it will be the same sack-of-shite tribute bands they had last year. Perhaps the organisers have been watching the episode of the Simpsons when the Who play Springfield and think they have a chance!.
