Grumble
More about what is really going on in the arts and music etc and less nostalgia from John Kennaugh please. We know it was all wonderful in the old days but we're in the 21st century now. One man's meat is another bloke's derogation... Podcasting offers much - any broadcast medium will only suit some of the people some of the time. I pity the programme controllers who have to decide what to commission, as you can guarantee that some people will like it while others bitch about it. manxcrabber
What's a radio? usually to be found on a black box- with a dial to the left and a tape cassette recorder beneath it. it is possible to pick one up at an antiques shop or at the jurby witch project. alternatively just use your skybox... unfortunately no MR

manxmedia
BTW Chris what did you think to the interview this morning on Mandate by Howard Cain with the Equity guy. It was about getting more work for its members on the Island. Have you seen this site? http://www.iomactors.com/ HOWARD CAINE CREDITS. 'COME HOME CHARLIE AND FACE THEM' (BBC) 'THE GINGER TREE' 'STIFF UPPER LIPS' 'BEST' MUSICIAN. CABARET, PLAYS, DRUMS, PIANO, DIDGERIDOO, SINGER EQUITY MEMBER Would it not have been a better idea to get someone not involved in the story to have done the interview? I thought it was usual pratice for people to declare an interest in a item like this

I thought it was usual pratice for people to declare an interest in a item like this I think Howard and weatherman Adrian Cowin with the catch phrase "in old money" just about every time he gives a temperature in fahrenheit, would make a very good comedy duo on Manx Radio. Pragmatopian
Rajar listening figures, for the fourth quarter of last year, are published tomorrow. Going public next week.Whos up, whos down, you decide Manx Radio appears to have the highest % weekly reach, hours per head and and the third highest % audience share of any of the national or local stations listed! Average hours per head is relatively low, though. Total weekly reach is higher than the BBC stations for Jersey, Guernsey and Solent. http://www.rajar.co.uk/QuarterlySummary/sp...fa?periodid=138 Do 35k (61%) of the adult population really listen to Manx Radio on a weekly basis and for an average of nearly 16 hours? I have to say I'd be surprised... 'There are lies, damned lies, and statistics.'
Dr Gonzo
BTW Chris what did you think to the interview... Ahem. First... T&Cs "Please do not post personal information about any individual on the forum (including name, address, telephone/mobile numbers or e-mail addresses, photograph's or any other information that will identify an individual or user of this forum). Any such information will be deleted and the offender's user account suspended indefinitely." Second... Every time a story goes out about income tax, do you expect the journalist to mention that they pay it? Or perhaps during the Castle Mona Hotel saga, you should mention whether you drink in Breeze? Are you an NCTJ qualified journalist or just another uninformed amateur?

Have you seen this site?http://www.iomactors.com/ Other than the president of Equity and Norman Wisdom - I didn't recognise any of those actors on the site. Me neither, although Mitch Murray has some pretty good credentials - apparently wrote 'How Do You Do It', which George Martin wanted The Beatles to release as their first single in 1962, although they ultimately released 'Love Me Do'. Also 'You Were Made for Me', recorded by Freddie and the Dreamers. He's even appeared on Countdown! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mitch_Murray
Desperate Dan
We got to the bottom of Manx Media a while back on the forums, 1.) He's an ex Manx radio employee/hanger onner.. 2.) He's a current radio/media nerd 3.)
