Gladys
Just watched Locke, only one actor visible but brilliant film. It is described as a thriller, but not in the conventional sense, just good old crisis of conscience.
Albert Tatlock
'Fury' WW2 based...Brad Pitt. Quite good I thought.
Thomas Jefferson
The last film I watched was The Hunger Games. Not a great film but I think I'm in love with Jennifer Lawrence.
thebees
Apparently they are for teenagers, I was told recently that one of the books is being covered by one of the local high schools, was there something wrong with Gerald Durrell? Chinahand
Watching the Day of the Jackal on ITV4 at the mo. Great movie, even better book. The decisions and actions people willing to use violence make and those in the state trying to stop them - often involving violence too. Shake me up Judy
I thought the book was much better. They should have shot the film from the Jackal's point of view, never letting us see his face. It would have made for a far more suspenseful movie. Chinahand
Just watched Captain Philips. Really enjoyed it. The last scene when he's in the sick bay was especially powerful. Learning later that the doctor wasn't an actor but a genuine Navy medical orderly in a sister ship of the vessel involved added to the scene. Hanks acts it fantastically. quilp
The LFIW'd was 'Fury'. It put me in one because it was not up to the promo. Hollyweird...

P.K.
Saw Mr Turner yesterday. One of the few films I've watched where nothing happened very very slowly..... However The Management approved so not a complete waste of time.

Gladys
Talking of which, I see there is a new film on the terrible twins. I wonder if it will be as good as the one with the crooner boys. (I met Charlie Kray once, at a charity boxing evening would, you believe. No idea who he was until I was gently pulled to one side and enlightened. )
P.K.
You live with the Krays? No. I live with "The Management" - not to be confused with "The Firm".

rmanx
Mad Max: Fury Road... It was an okay post apocalyptic film, but I think it traded on the MM name a lot harder than it justified. Max wasn't the main character in my opinion, which was taken by Charlize Theron's "Furiosa". Visually excellent.
