Bit pissed off with Game, i've been going in for months asking when they're taking pre-orders, to be told each time "not until the release is announced", went in saturday just gone and asked, the guy told me they had a list 4 pages long of people who they'd be contacting first as they'd expressed interest early. I pre-ordered mine with Gameplay on the 12th May 2006 (when the release date was November). No deposit was needed and they have confirmed I should get a launch console. Thing is, there are no decent games out at the mo (compared with the 360) and if it stays like that its going up on ebay. Always wary now of getting console on launch date following my Dreamcast debarcle (dont ask!)....so will be waiting to see what games start coming thrugh and whether this whole blu-ray is going to take off!! ray marshall Posted January 25, 2007 Share Posted January 25, 2007 £425?....thats a 360 and a wii (in guernsey anyway).......only 4 games actually worth getting (splinter cell / oblivion / call of duty / f e a r).......plus the need of blu ray for games has been blown wide open......resistance fall of man supposed to be 22gb......so when a hacker made a dump of the disc on a us ps3, lo and behold he found the actual game was only 7.6gb in size....the rest was padding to force the game file towards the edge of the disc........so your paying £50 for a game that would fit on a ordinary dvd, the less said about the blu ray film support the better...... www.ps3scene.com is very enlightening, and the blu ray was the first to have its aacs cracked, thus allowing the dumping of movie and game images to the ps3 harddrive.......there old stories now but if you look thru the archives they are there i wonder if the uk launch models are the models just being pulled off the shelves from usa and japan, as sales have practically stopped there........ xbox360 hd dvd addon and a wii please shopkeep!!!
