Oh yes and don't forget to put aside an extra £32.99 to buy a rumble controller (or £65.98 if you want two!) when they're released next year, despite Sony saying that PS3 positively, definitely, didn't need a rumble controller, because they're old hat and no one wants them these days.

I fucking hate rumble controllers so no thanks. They add nothing to a game IMO.

You're only saying that because your PS3 doesn't have rumble pads, if it did, you'd be like "OMFG RUMBLE RULEZ!"

Well if it comes with 2 controllers already, why would you bother? Unless you're really bothered about the rumble. We forked out £100 on extra controllers for the egg box. So far, grand total for the Elite is probably £200 more than the PS3 we bought at full price 3months ago.

But on the plus side, at least you've been able to play some games on the Elite.

(And if you paid £100 for extra controllers, you must have bought another three to make the full complement of four, so you're not really comparing like with like.)

The tortoise always beats the hare.... ;)

PS3 sales have rocketed up 178 per cent after the introduction of a new model and a price cut, GamesIndustry.biz is reporting.

It has resulted in the third strongest week for the platform since its launch in the UK, propelling it ahead of its main rival the Xbox 360.

Hopefully now the publishers will start getting properly behind the ps3.

Good, that means those of us who were saying it was too expensive were right, and you folks who said it wasn't are wrong!

But, hang on, here's last weeks sales:

DS 46,545

X360 26,243

Wii 25,373

PSP 14,994

PS2 9,020

PS3 6,757

GBA 608

178% on top of last weeks sales makes what, about 18,000? So even with a price drop, it's selling less than the 360 did last week?
