Good, that means those of us who were saying it was too expensive were right, and you folks who said it wasn't are wrong!

But, hang on, here's last weeks sales:

DS 46,545

X360 26,243

Wii 25,373

PSP 14,994

PS2 9,020

PS3 6,757

GBA 608

178% on top of last weeks sales makes what, about 18,000? So even with a price drop, it's selling less than the 360 did last week?

UKR's take on it......

So, PS3 sales are up 178%. Amazing. Except that when you start being given percentage figures instead of actual sales figures you know someone is trying to hide something. You see, in the previous week PS3 only sold a measly 6700 machines. 20,000 less than the 360, so despite the increase it is still falling short by a long measure, shifting only about 18000 units. What's worse for Sony, is that nearly 90% of those sales were for the soon-to-be-discontinued 60GB backwards-compatible version. That is REALLY bad news for the senior executive who thought the public would want to buy a Chavtastic Gimped machine. In summary, PS3 = Fucked. Move along now.

Course, the important figures, the USA sales show a very different story:

Xbox 360: 527,800

Wii: 501,000

495,800

PlayStation Portable: 284,500

PlayStation 2: 215,000

PlayStation 3: 119,400

Game Boy Advance: 75,000

PS2 outsold the ps3? Lol!

Estimated Worldwide Sales (according to all available official and estimated data on October 16th)

Wii - 11,526,637

Xbox 360 - 10,946,894

PlayStation 3 - 4,723,880

Meanwhile, sony's downright fucking bizzare press continues. This article:

Where sony boss says they didn't remove ps2 compatability for cost, they removed it because people were buying ps2 and not ps3 games! Does he not realise that's because ps3 games fucking suck? They needed to make good ps3 games, not remove BC, jesus!

Microsoft secretly bought out Sony on the even of the PS3's launch, and are now attempting to destroy the company from within, there is absolutely no other explanation.

I do love UKR's turn of phase, and make no apology whatsoever for quoting them here YET AGAIN.

------------------------

SLAUGHTER! SLAUGHTER IN AMERICA!

Blood everywhere! The blood of the arrogant! PlayStation3 had the biggest hammering of its entirely hammering-based lifetime last month, as Xbox 360 and Wii both outsold the overpriced HD shitbox by FOUR TIMES.

Even if the magical price cut and introduction of an even worse version of the hardware boosts sales by, say, 178 percent, it'll still be LAST BY A FUCKING MILE. JOY OF JOYS! TYRANNY HAS ENDED!

AMERICAN HARDWARE SALES FIGURES FOR SEPTEMBER 2007

360: 527,000

Wii: 501,000

DS: 495,000

PSP: 284,000

PS2: 215,000

PS3: 119,000

GBA: 75,000

Sony will finish in third place this console generation, beaten by a PC that breaks all the time and a child's toy. The mighty have fallen - TO DEATH!

SONY'S LIES

It's getting so hard to keep track of these now that I thought it might be an idea to make a list, just for the chuckles.

1. "The PS3 is to be launched simultaneously in the three major gaming territories - North America, Asia and Europe."

http://www.ps3focus.com/archives/196

2. "Backwards compatibility is a core value of Playstation now."

http://www.gamepro.com/news.cfm?article_id=55108

3. "Having multiple SKUs just confuses the customer."

http://www.gamesindustry.biz/content_page.php?aid=11209

4. "Rumble is last gen, and can't work with the tilting function."

http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3157501

5. "We're not going to remove backwards compatibility."

http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=74124

6. "We removed backwards compatibility to lower the price."

http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=85648

7. "We removed backwards compatibility to make people buy PS3 games, NOT to lower the price."

http://kotaku.com/gaming/spin/jack-tretton...ures-312628.php

8. "We removed backwards compatibility as a result of consumer feedback."

http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=84824

9. "We removed backwards compatibility to spend the money on developing new games."

http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=84831

(ALL of these are lies, since they obviously did it to boost sales of the 60GB model prior to introducing the 80GB one next year.)

10. "We're not going to cut the price for two years."

Anywhooo back to talking about the ps3 since this is a ps3 thread.

Uncharted drakes fortune is going to be a AAA title according to 1up. (And they are completely unbiased btw)

It certainly looks good.. Again better than anything ive seen on my 360.

If anyone wants any info on where to import rockband for the ps3 (since its region free).. unlike the 360 version. Its all on avforums in the ps3 section.

Not only does it mean getting it 3-4 months early but even with importing and tax its going to work out cheaper than over here.
