why do smokers get free NHS treatment for smoking related complaints - they should have to pay the private rates. to get private health care you have to complete a questionnaire make a declaration and get a medical before they usually set-the premium rate - surely its about time the same was done for Natl Insce healthcare. price out the smokers and let them die all the quicker.

Yeah! ...and take out of the NHS babies born with 'defects' requiring expensive treatments, those unfit to be human beings with diabetes, fat people, slow people, low IQ people, old people, non-blondes, non ayrian and anyone with a big nose.

Smokers pay far more into the system than anyone else. They also tend to die a lot quicker and not take out as much. The alternative would be for everyone to pay far higher taxes.

Think about that when you're lying on your hospice bed dying of nothing.

Yup, a couple of years ago, some tit was whining that smoking related illnesses cost the NHS (UK) 1.8 billion pounds a year.....

It was then pointed out to them, that thje UK Government rakes in over 18 billion a year from the tax on tobacco.

If everyone in the UK stopped drinking, and stopped smoking, we would be in serious debt.
