The 'london bus' they refer to would be the 'routemaster' which is a bit taller and longer but also no longer in service so the answer is pointless because you'll never see one on the streets of London.

Anorak off and back on with the loafers.

The only thing it has in common with the routemaster is that they are now both no longer in service.

Its not even the same colour.

London buses have always been used in comparison to measuring anything huge.

"Well, if you can imagine the size of Nelson's Column, which is roughly three times the size of a London bus"

"Before building the Atlas detector...the components and assembly methods envisaged for the final coil versions. This “small” coil, of the size of a London bus..."

etc.

I believe due to the demise of the London Bus the standard of measurement is now being replaced by either the 'Blair Ego' or 'Government Cock Up' - which is the equivalent of 35 people standing in a line holding hands, and the distance between the first and last set of outstretched fingertips - which on the island is equivalent to one 'MHKs wagepacket' or half a 'grant'.
