Bad Batch Of Heroin

It’s the same with other things, Remember ‘Fennings Fever Cure’ anyone? A quinine stuff that tasted beyond foul (as quinine does) but that was common place to bring down an elevated temperature in the case of ‘flu or a bad cold. Allegedly! And yet quinine has some rather nasty side effects but nonetheless it was regularly given to kids.

Then there’s alcohol, people often don’t realise the damage alcohol actually does to a developing brain or for that matter that it causes brain damage at all.

There was also 'gripe water' given to babies with colic. Although the formula has changed now, it used to contain alcohol.

I guess society learns, or at least tries to learn, from its collective mistakes. At present society's view is that the unregulated use of drugs is 'not a good thing'.

(Nevertheless I can imagine that there may still be stressed-out parents who give spoonfuls of gin to fractious babies.)

How many people on the island do you think take 'recreational drugs?

Do all these people progress through the 'gateway' into harder drugs?

Are these people all commiting crimes to feed their 'habit'?

Are these people all obviously 'scum'?

Do you find yourself dealing with these people on a daily basis and not knowing it?

Do you have any facts to back up everything you say, for and against, other than what you have read in the media, which we all know manipulates public opinion to suit it's own ends, or your interpretation of what you have been told?

Yes. And very close to home as well.

There is reason to believe that an extremely dangerous batch of posts has been aimed at manxforums. They are known as ‘Really obnoxious garbage’ (or ‘Rog’ to the streetwise) and it’s believed that, if taken seriously, they can cause extensive and permanent brain damage.

A spokesperson for the authorities reported that it was still uncertain whether they were coming from their original source in East Anglia or whether the supplier has now moved the centre of operations to Tenerife, but added; “This kind of filth is something that people really need to be warned about. It’s easy for impressionable minds to become hooked on this kind of thing and, before they know it, they can find themselves mainlining on ‘BNP’ or ‘Thatcherism’ – two of the most deadly thought-processes known to modern civilisation.”

So, should we be warning forum users of bad posts or just let them get a bad set of moral ideas and suffer for their habit? After all, the use of it is idiotic. If there are some brain deaths it may warn youngsters off any use and experimentation with bad attitudes.

I rather liked that!

However just because it may be embarrassing for some people to have their immorality, weakness, and bad character not to mention moral turpitude presented to them as being just what it is, that doesn’t make it either wrong to do, or make their disgusting behaviour any the less disgusting if it is NOT ‘told like it is’.
