Its the wrong headline. It should read: " Jobs for Boys". Retired police officers on an index linked government pension of £25,000 - £35,000, escape the bread-line by securing lucrative jobs at the airport where disruptive passengers and unauthorised visitors have provided a major problem for years. The Coronor will also now be able to seize goods and hold bankrupt auctions in the main lounge. Many passengers were escaping the Island with their possessions intact. This will now stop.

There's currently no retired police officers working for the airport security. With such a lucrative pension, surely they don't have to work full time..............

Don't you just love it when someone such as the Last Bulgham Miner shows their arse when ranting without being certain about their facts. Police Officers may well get a reasonable pension but only because they pay an absolute fortune each month in superannuation. There won't be many other Government workers paying such a large amount in contributions. For his information, there are two retired Police Officers working within Tynwald one is a retired Inspector and one a Chief Inspector. There are quite a few former officers working after their retirement. They clearly have the necessary skills and experience to be able to get the jobs they do, and why shouldn't they get the jobs? After all, no responsible employer will employ anyone who isn't going to be effective!

You're not seriously trying to paint the legislature, and particularly the legislative council, as a normal employer, are you?

What a wonderful thought The Last Bell-end Miner comes up with.

Instead of employing people who have some sort off background of " Policing ", let's employ someone who last week was a, brickie, postman, shop assistant?

Typical Manx thinking years ago but we've moved on since then. Apparently the Bell-end miner hasn't. What a Tit.

I think "It" should appoligise to the geniune people who applied and got the jobs and if "It " doesn't, just shows that " It " is nothing but a sad trolling saddo and nothing but a bitter and twistered cunt.

So bloody what ??? You sound like a bitter old man with an axe to grind. You move on to other jobs when proved wrong about your original claim about the airport. And yes, Mr Shimmin has retired - nearly ten years ago.

Get your facts right or may I suggest you find something else to do for a hobby (like grinding axes) instead of making ridiculous claims on an internet forum. With attention to detail like yours, you should run for the House of Keys.
