Dhss - The Elderly Are To Pay For A New Computer

copycat

Recommended Posts

Eddie Teare DHSS Minister says in IOM Examiner that the 32 bed EMI unit for Farmhill that the Dept was going to build has been scrapped 'cos, at the moment, they can't afford the running costs which he says would be £1.6 million a year.

So eventually when they do want one built it will cost £x+some huge % increase.

So why the heck don't they build it at to-day's costs and then effectively 'mothball' it until they can open it up bit by bit?

I think its worth theAl Murray saying:- Shame, Shame on you Minister.

p.s that guy Dan must be rubbing his hands with glee since he can now build an extra 13 houses on the site.

shame.

You really need to learn what inflation really is. It may cost more to build it a few years later, but the earnings will be appropriately more, so the real cost will be roughy the same. Subtract running costs for 'mothballing' and it's really not worth while.

so explain the 'pay for a new computer' header.

Are you intimating that they should get free computers ?

VOTE YES for 'Silver Surfer Government Subsidies'

I think they may be referring to the fact that Eddie Teare asked Tynwald for several thousand pounds to install a new computer system for patient records and it went through wthout much debate.Money can always be found when they want it or when a pistol is held to their heads.
