getting reday for annual inspection and certification

After all it takes over all sailings in exactly 4 weeks time when the Ben goes in for overhaul

and its not SSC2 anymore isn't it Snaefell, or Viking

it's Viking, the small seacat is now showing as Snaefell but they don't seem to have changed the AIS to Viking yet

although it is showing the status as 'aground' which I suppose is accurate in a dry dock :)

There is still three weeks to go so I guess we will see. Seatruck's first new ferry is due to arrive in a few weeks anyway, it may be that the SPC can charter the ship thats been chartered to cover Riverdance in that case.

  • 3 weeks later...

Viking just left its berth (13.30) and slowly making its way through the docks to come out through the lock gates (13.45)

14.25 - just escaped into the mersey !.

exactly why they called it Viking is beyond me, there must be about 6 ships with Viking in the name currently using Liverpool, (Mersey Viking, Lagan Viking, Liverpool Viking, etc., suppose they wouldn't call it Manx Viking for shame's sake) and could easily cause confusion !
