copycat
in my mind its just a form of corruption whereby a developer attempts to 'buys off' local residents with the promise of something else - supermarkets etc do it all the time - thing is you find local council's suddenly become spineless agaist standing up for what is right - what has to be asked is:- is the deal offered now really in the very best long term interests of the residents, and if the deal is accepted does it set a precedent for having to accept subsequent ones?"
