Albert Tatlock
Just out of curiosity - are there any deaf people that use these forums?

Addie
I can sign the alphabet. I've not used it very often though. lol I always assumed that signing was the one means of communication that would cross all language barriers. Seems not as I heard that different countries have different signs. Shame.
manxmaid
I passed my Level 1 in British Sign Language a couple of years back, and I have used it a few times..... it opens another world, and its amazing how ignorant I must have appeared to deaf people before I could sign. I want to do my Level 2 (you need that level to interprate) but it is very expensive and also very few people pass it. Yes the signs do vary from country to country and even region to region I suppose its just like our accents and local slang words. I would urge anyone who has the opportunity to learn BSL to go do it, there is big money in it too!
