@ pedantic: ok. but i still think the cost of getting here is disproportionately high for the majority of comparisons and the rest of the years prices. if the steam packet had proper competition the prices would fall, look whats happened at manx telecom now others are allowed in, all of a sudden there are cheaper tariffs all round. it would be the same for meat, milk and bread if local businesses were not protected by legislation. but i accept that this is how the local economy is protected. you may also have noticed that diesel has gone up to almost 103 per litre when only a few months ago it was less than a quid.
