Stu Peters
PLEASE forget the message that speed kills - it's been proved a crock and misleads people into thinking that slow+bad=safe. I don't know the people or circumstances involved in this tragedy, but people MUST be taught that it's bad driving/riding that causes accidents. Good drivers/riders learn to 'read' the road and can make very brisk progress, always with a Plan B in mind should the unexpected happen. If it's dry tomorrow I'll be going out for a ride with the IAM bikers (Sea Termy at 1pm) - they welcome ANYONE who wants to improve their skills. I'm not half as confident on a bike as in a car, but I want to improve. We should ALL learn from tragedies like this and aim to do that.
John Wright
Stu is correct, it is bad driving which kills, not speed per se, but it is not the whole truth, the whole truth is that in many situations speed = bad driving
ans
A very sad case going back to Nov 2004 2005 actually. I don't think we really need any more topics started by you on this subject, thanks all the same. We've had enough complaints about the other ones that I think we'd prefer it if you suspended discussion about it until after the court case.
