Gladys
Yes, I have seen the wok player. I don't know what the instrument is and I can't really remember what it sounds like. But I was intrigued too.
grant
I saw the wok player and vaguely wondered whether the wok would fit up the players arse!
Gladys
With enough dexterity, and some WD40, it probably will.

Static
anyone know what the great sounding instrument the busker in Strand Street is using that looks like a mini flying saucer and where would I get one from? It's called a Hung (though it's prononced "Hang"). They can only be bought from the couple of who invented them. You will have to travel to Switzerland and reqeust they make you one. You hand over your €800 (I think) and get one hand-made for you. They are made to the similar principle to a steel drum though the sound that a skilled player can get out of them is amazing. I saw a guy called Steve Sheehan in a band called Hadouk play one last year and he was playing chords on his. Blew me away the music he was makng with it. The guy who was/is on Strand Street is quite accomplished as well. And thank you for asking a decent question for once!
ai_Droid
ahh spot on, enabled a google about it: http://www.oddmusic.com/gallery/om16250.html It is a top instrument, but not much variety in it's sound. At least from the busker bloke.

the mo beats experience
He needs to learn a different tune. Agreed, but a magnificent sound he creates nonetheless.
