Broadband Technical Advisor

 

Wi-Manx are looking for a Broadband Technical Advisor to work in our support department. If you are smart, passionate about your work, have common sense and a genuine interest in the internet and IT in general, then this is the role for you. We believe we offer an excellent working environment, one in which you will be exposed to the latest Internet, wireless and VoIP technology.

 

Your role will be to provide exceptional customer service, assisting our customers with a variety of technical issues relating to their broadband service and solving these issues in a language the customer understands.

 

Responsibilities include;

 

o Provide first-line support

o Answering and solving customer support queries

o Liaising with customers in our broadband shop

o Preparing and configuring broadband equipment for collection

o Logging support tickets and working with our senior engineers

 

To be suitable for this role you must have the following skills;

 

o Strong knowledge of broadband and the internet in general

o A genuine interest in both the Internet and personal computer operations

o Knowledge of Microsoft Windows (2000\XP\Vista)

o Knowledge of Macs a bonus

o Basic wireless networking skills (802.11b/g/n)

o A good understanding of modern applications (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Outlook etc)

o Ability to work within a changing technological environment

o Be a problem solver

o Experience of network configuration & VoIP desired (although this is not a requirement)

o GCSE in Maths\English

 

This role will involve liaising with our customers over the phone, by e-mail and in person - therefore excellent communication skills are a must.

 

Applicants will have their technical skills tested on the above, if successful you will be invited to a formal interview.

This role is a full-time permanent position (35 hours per week). Salary commensurate with knowledge and experience.
