copycat
The IOM's minimum wage will have to rise so that migrant labor is retained and not lured away by the vastly better rate being offered in the Republic of Ireland - where the rate is now going to be as of Sunday €8.65 per hour. http://www.businessworld.ie/livenews.htm?a...rollingnews.htm

John Wright
Why? Our minimum wage is €8.10 and then they get nearly £9,000 €13,500 tax free and then £10,000 €15,000 at 10% In Ireland its €1760 £1150 tax free and then 20% up to €30,000 £20,000 On top of that you have to pay ito the Irish health care system with VHI and for pensions. Thats more than NI. All in all if you earn more than about £3,000 you are better of here, housing is cheaper, helath care better and free.
