Frances
whilst agreeing that copycat is just scaremongering could anyone please explain why foot passengers at Douglas have to be checked and baggage x-rayed whereas I guess 1 car in 10 is stopped -and packed baggage seldom looked at. Coming back on the ferry from St Malo into UK a month ago - virtually no check - likewise I often use the chunnel, very few checks on French side (except a couple of years ago when security was very tight and saw every car with any one looking at all islamic being stopped & searched). When Skies Are Grey
whilst agreeing that copycat is just scaremongering could anyone please explain why foot passengers at Douglas have to be checked and baggage x-rayed whereas I guess 1 car in 10 is stopped -and packed baggage seldom looked at. And at the same time people complain about the boats not going on time....a bit of a lose/lose situation methinks.
Frances
I'm not suggesting the Racket do check - far from it - I guess they (or Manx Gov) were forced by UK gov but quite what purpose it serves defeats me.
