Movies to be shown include Rain Man, Days of Thunder, Singin' in the Rain and Gone with the Wind...

Some cutting edge stuff there then. They should have called it -

THE 2007 FILMS WE GOT OUT OF THE BARGAIN DVD BIN JUST BEFORE THE CHECK-OUT AT SHOPRITE FESTIVAL.

Greese and Casino Royale..... like I said - cutting edge modern filmmaking

How does showing two films constitute a 'Festival', I know its a greatly misused word these days but that has to be one of the worst misuses I've heard in a long time !

Has anybody heard what the ticket prices are like, I won't be going but I'm vaguely interested just for the Skeet

Please do not use that expression as it tends to disturb the mods! :)

The Tynwald garden party was scheduled to be at the business school - but rain meant it had to be shifted. That's in July...what chance d'you think they really have in September?

To make sure it has that essential Manx cinema experience the following rules will be obeyed:

- The film will be shown out of focus.

- The sound will be badly balanced and sound atrocious.

- There will be no disabled access.

- You will be force to sit in an uncomfortably tiny space.

- You will be surrounded by chav kids continually talking, eating noisily, and texting each other.

Add to this the freezing cold, 99 percent chance of rain, and the fact that all of the films have been available on DVD for ages and I can see this being a big hit.

The Manx cinema going experience is as pitiful as a lot of the films made here.

"Tickets must be pre-booked and are now available from the new IOM Welcome Centre based at the Sea Terminal."

That's really handy, because you can book a November trip on the Seacat at the same time as neither of them are likely to be uduly affected by the weather.......

And Evil Ena will glare at you as she 'shows' you to your seats by waving a torch in the general direction.
