copycat
The IOM Steam Packet and the other shipping companies are having to look at Co2 emissions and whether they can reduce them or if not pay for emission credits following the publication of a new report that says shipping is one of the largest contributors of climate changing gases. Apparently cargo ships cruise ships ferries and trawlers account for 5% of global Co2 emissions. It seems likely from what those within local shipping co are saying is that Joe Public is going to get stung with the cost of a emissions surcharge on the ticket price and on the cost of imported goods brought across the Irish Sea. http://ec.europa.eu/maritimeaffairs/contri...327skysails.pdf
