copycat
How come it takes weeks to paint the Mountain Road and even months to paint the white line back onto the coast road on the way out of Ramsey just below the climb to the Rest&Be Thankful - if there is an accident there because there is no white line will the DOT be liable? Mission
I believe it's down to the shortage of white dog shit (from which said lines are painted). Despite their best efforts, the DOT are struggling to find a sufficient supply of the stuff to complete their schedule of works.

Gladys
Copycat, do you need white lines to tell you where the middle of the road is?

sarahc
Copycat, do you need white lines to tell you where the middle of the road is? I don't know about Copycat but judging by some people last week they certainly do need the white lines. Frightening.
grant
But what sort of white lines are you on about, copycat?
xbones
For a start there was no double white lines when I went past Kate's Cottage at the weekend, and hasn't been for a while.

I doubt very much if the DOT would accept liablity for any accident, my mate came off his bike in the UK a while ago because there was a pile of loose chippings left on the road, despite long arguments with the DOT over there they said tough luck basically, they have no legal obligation to put signs out. Nice.
TerryMcCann
I'm pretty sure the DoT have simply forgotten to paint that bit down from the Rest and be Thankful. Either that or they ran out of white paint and there is a rwally really big queue at B&Q
xbones
The only bits they've painted up to Windy is where there is a solid white line too.
