The Last Bulgam Miner
The Isle of Man National Sports Centre is runner-up at European City of Sport. Source : http://news.bbc.co.uk/go/rss/-/1/hi/world/...man/6940178.stm It is pleasing that all the money spent on that wonderful building, swimming pool and track has at last had a return at International level. Rather ironic that for sporting achievments at International level the Island has to rely on cycling and shooting. Two sports that received 0 million pound in financial help. Do you rely on Alanis Morrisette for your definitions of irony? I think you might. How many millions do you actually need to inject in to the sport of shooting? There are plenty of indoor and outdoor ranges/clubs on the island, it can't be that expensive to set up a few slingshots with old plates on them to fire at, can it? I'm sure we've discussed the cycling thing before, is there enough interest or a high enough level of participation on the island to require an all singing, all dancing cycle track? They can do laps of the NSC, what more do you want, jeez!
