Thieves Use Satnav To Find Home Of Victim

Police yesterday urged drivers not to leave their journey home programmed into their satellite navigation systems.

The warning came after thieves stole a satnav from a car at the Alton Towers theme park and used it to find the owner's house in Shropshire.

They then stole a £20,000 Saab convertible from the driveway.

You've got to admire them. Genius.

They showed this exact scam on the telly last year. They stick someone at the entrance of a car park complete with uniform and fake ID, then get your car keys, charge you whatever the rate is, go and "park" your car then when you're out of the way they simply drive off. The guy they stung had his home address stored in his sat nav and his house keys in the glovebox, so not only could they nick his car, they could get a van and empty his house as well!
