cheeky boy
I agree totally, he has done wonders for law and order on the island. Remember when you stood a good chance of being beaten up on the prom, drunkeness all around the town, and this in broad daylight? You just need to cast your mind back to 1999-2000. The police force on the island is, I believe, superb and law and order is in pretty good shape despite the general decline in public behaviour throughout the UK these days. And if you look back through the old weekly newspaper reports pre WWII then you'll probably come to the conclusion that Douglas is much safer these days. Moghrey Mie
The only 'law' that applies to him is the one stating that "everyone rises to the level of their own incompetence." Most of the local police are okay. They deserve better leadership than they've had. Tut tut you are talking about the man who brought over Laurence Olivier's son to teach the force leadership. It was a course based on Henry 1V. Once more unto the breach dear friends......
rallybug
No doubt he will be leaving with a "Golden Handshake" I would hope not - he was on a fixed-term contract, so it isn't as if he was being asked to resign.
