They would be using a rifle with telescopic sights. ... and would be busy keeping his crosshairs on the target in case he needs to shoot at a split second's notice of danger or trouble. In other words, he wouldn't be using his scope to follow the gun around so he could see if the moulding on the safety or the underside of the magazine was a bit iffy and try to weigh up weather or not it's a real firearm.
