grant
I'm much too young to remember "allo, allo style", was it on the telly or wireless?
Gladys
The chrystal set. Never managed a full episode without a valve blowing.
Lonan3
I'm not convinced that the police don't have any input into choosing names for operations. 'Brownstone' is clearly a euphemism for 'shitting bricks,' the normal reaction of drivers who are pulled over by the police! On the subject of mobile phones, I'd like to thank the moron who stopped to answer a call on the Liverpool Arms straight yesterday evening - alongside the double white lines, near the crest of the rise, at the busiest (shortly after 5:15) - and not only held up a shed load of traffic but could have caused a serious accident. FFS! If it rings and you haven't got a hands free set (They're cheap enough) leave it! You can call back when it's safe and legal to do so! Minxie
FFS! If it rings and you haven't got a hands free set (They're cheap enough) leave it! I have one of these and it's great. You get a good signal, it's easily switched from car to car if you use more than one, and it's not got an uncomfortable ear piece.
Lonan3
To return to the serious point, namely that 'anti-social' driving can have terrible consequences: LINK TO STORY Craig Ramshaw, 18, was found guilty of careless driving after four teenagers died when his car careered off a mountain road near Ebbw Vale. Danielle Caswell, Katie Roberts, 15, and Louise Jones and Kayleigh Parry, 16, died on 2 November last year. Ramshaw was given a conditional discharge and banned for two years. He will also have to re-sit his test. The six-day trial heard how three days after passing his driving test, the teenager was driving along a mountain road - B4560 between Garnlydan and Llangynidr - at around 2100 GMT when he lost control and the car flipped over. The prosecution accused him of "showing off" but Ramshaw, an apprentice plumber, denied that insisting he was not driving at more than 40mph when he felt his back wheel skid. Shortly after the Vauxhall Corsa careered off the road and flipped over. The girls were thrown from the vehicle. They were not wearing seatbelts, unlike Ramshaw and a front seat passenger, who survived with minor injuries.
