Slim
In the eve of halo2, it looks like Microsoft are having a big push on banning modded xboxes from live, according to this: http://www.rllmukforum.com/index.php?showtopic=63001&st=20 It appears that if you were on live early in the year, they collected info about your eeprom and hard disk. If they've changed since, your banned. Pretty sure I'll be caught by this, as I used my xbox on live pre-mod. Bah.

monkey_magic
Arse indeed. How do they stop you? Do they just block your xbox live account? The reason I ask is, a couple of weeks after getting mine chipped I can no longer turn it on without the chip on. Obviously this means I can't get on live. Only £100 for a new xbox though, might be worth it...
Slim
It apparently bans your live account and popps a message up that you aren't allowed on because you have modified the hardware. Sucks.

When Skies Are Grey
I know..the price was mental. especially when compared to chipping but I guess thats the point. Just another Gatesism - its not like he needs the money!!
Slim
Eh? That's got nothing to do with microsoft. It's a pc with an xbox stuffed inside the case is all.

Cret
Hmmm, mine is chipped and has a large hdd but has never been connected to Xbox live. Does that mean I'll be ok if I hook it up because they don't have different 'before/after' hardware data for it? Or will it still go tits up because it'll detect that the hardware isn't standard stuff as I sort of suspect?
