Moghrey Mie
A proposal to dump sewage pellets at an Isle of Man landfill is a contingency plan only, the government says. Source : http://news.bbc.co.uk/go/rss/-/1/hi/world/...man/7040246.stm Yes, they are applying to change the licence at the incinerator so they can burn 'pelletised biosolids' there-an equally mad idea. They are also going to store hazardous waste and fly ash at the incinerator. Details were in the paper on September 14th and comments invited within 21 days. Do we care? Silentbob
Well, it has to better than their current strategy of flinging the raw sewage over the fields around the treatment plant (or was the case some months ago)

Is there any other country in the world where they pump sewage for miles, dry it into pellets and then bury it in landfill? How much energy does that take? feelslikeitshould
Is there any other country in the world where they pump sewage for miles, dry it into pellets and then bury it in landfill? Not only that....let gravity take it down the hill, hold it in large tanks and then pump it all back up the hill! Pumping shit up a hill, sounds like a punchline to a bad joke about 2 Irish lads called Mick and Paddy.
