[BBC News] Record TT revenue boosts economy

The Isle of Man's centenary TT festival is estimated to have contributed about £48m to the island's economy.

The TT, in its centenary year, put nearly £50 million into the economy.

 

Figures, just published by the Government, set the average spend for the 60,000 visitors at £800 a head.

 

The good news for next year is that bookings are up 35 per cent for this time of year.

 

 

Thats not bad going :)

 

However, it will be interesting to see the figures after 2008, and if the per head spend is the same for a normal year ?
