If you are reply to a post immediately before yours there's no real need to quote the entire post - we've just read it! It just doubles the length of the thread and makes it confusing harder to read.

 

If you are replying to a portion of a post - just quote the bit you wish to highlight and delete the rest.

 

Here is how to use the quote tags -

 

[quote]It should look like this[/quote]

 

If you want to say who you are quoting

 

[quote name='Declan']you do it like this[/quote]

 

To show the time of the post -

 

[quote name='Declan' date='Nov 13 2007, 19:30ish PM' post='279454']Do this[/quote]

 

OR just highlight the text you want to quote and click this button -

 

But even easier than that you could just hit and it does it for you.
