%age
Port Erin, once a picturesque village is now a sprawl of hap-hazard estates reflecting the notion that it is a dormitory town for Douglas. Page 47 of this week's Courier: Approx 50% to be for housing Bigger picture circa 2000 I'm not quite sure where all this stops, although I am aware that one respected MHK in the 1980s spoke that the Island ideally needed a population of 120,000. Not long to go now yessir.
Declan
Could you clarify what your objection is?
jim
I'm sure some of that land was zoned for sports fields or something along those lines.
TerryMcCann
Looks like a perfectly good site for some much needed development to me
cheesemonster2005
Urban sprawl! Port Erin is a village so it's not exactly urban sprawl and it's time that more housing projects were carried out outside of Douglas/Onchan.

That's always been a target figure. It was also the rough population target mentioned when building the hospital - a hospital to service a population of between 100 - 120 thousand. You fail to appreciate the significance that fields and fields of crappy breeze block shanty towns offer for the local economy.
