Amadeus
Now here's a..er..'different' approach to an old theme: Paper runs holiday contest for drunken drivers St. Mary's Today, a weekly newspaper in southern Maryland, is offering a free coffin to the next local resident who dies while driving drunk. Just in case you can't read it, here's the text: Free Coffin Giveaway to the 1st DRUNK DRIVER TO KILL THEMSELVES DURING THIS HOLIDAY DRINKING AND DRIVING SEASON! Tired of all the nagging of loved ones, stupid commercials from MADD, cops, judges and addiction counselors? Throw a final bender this Christmas and get a cheaper funeral by being the ST. MARY'S TODAY Christmas Party DWI Dead Driver Winner! We will throw in a FREE wooden coffin...however, you could just call a cab and save us the pile of scrap lumber. Each week, editor Ken Rossignol publishes the names and photographs of people who have been charged with drunken driving in his community, which is southeast of Washington. "You wanna die? You know, we're gonna make it cheaper for you," he tells the local ABC affiliate, adding: "We hope we don't have to award a free coffin to someone, but if they want it they'll get it." Stavros
That's a bit harsh isn't it? ...Winner(s) must appear in person, provide valid photo indentification and agree to participate in any promotional activities Then there's the other problem with "....one size fits all" There's always terms and conditions tucked away somewhere and these ones would make you think twice after you've gone and killed yourself! Stavros
I'd imagine interviews might be a bit...one-sided... It would certainly be a stiff interview though. Stav.
