I would say that if it was refused after an appeal they must not have found the medical evidence to support the claim compelling otherwise they would have paid the benefit. The DHSS must have paid due attention to all the information provided.

 

It's nothing to do with the medical evidence. You don't get Income Support unless you have been on the IoM for 5 years or more. If she was off work short term and was not paid any sick pay and could confirm that she had a job to return too she may have been allowed it under hardship rules.

 

Otherwise she would be told (quite literally) that there was a boat in the morning and would be offered a travel warrant
