I mentioned this to my Mum who was round for a cuppa and she suggested I make sure there were no bends in the wire "in case the electricity couldn't get through". I cried a little inside. I hope they are making a profit, but it wouldn't surprise me if this is being done under a fixed price agreement signed years ago when fuel was a quarter the price it is now.
