Minxie
Is he 13 or 14 - make up your mind Newsbot Do we now have to expect a space of antisocial behaviour from children all trying to see who can be the next to get one, like a badge of honour? triskelion
The worst thing about 'asbos' is that they chose an acronym that can be pronounced as a word. Had they chosen, say, Counter Social Restriction Document, or something else that only used consonants, I reckon they would be a lot more effective. monasqueen
The worst thing about 'asbos' is that they chose an acronym that can be pronounced as a word. Isn't the whole point of acronyms that they can be pronounced as words? Bring back the birch, I say. That'd sort the buggars out. If they don't like it, there's a boat in the morning...... In most circumstances I would agree, but in the case of the Asbo I think it is counter-productive.
Frances
"Sometimes we can be dealing with juveniles who have never had it brought to their attention that what they're doing is wrong", Sgt Steve Goldsmith said. this sounds as if the parents need the birching not just the boy

Perhaps "Complete, Utterly Naughty Tyrrant" would be better. I agree though, bring back the birch.

monasqueen
I thought he was from Pulrose ? No, he stayed clear of his home patch - just went to Pully to stone the motors. Wonder what he'll think in a couple of years time when he has a motor of his own and someone chucks a brick through his windscreen?
