International Yacht Shows And Isle Of Man Representation

This is a follow up to the esoteric reporting of freebie day out at the London International Boat Show by one of the local radio reporters.

The Perspective programme contained an interview with one of the IOM's major business firms (Simcocks Yachts) who explained that the reason for attending was to meet existing and potential new clients interested in placing yacht registration business on the Isle of Man. Patricia Slavin from Simcocks went on to explain why it is necessary to have a presence at the Dubai and Monaco shows etc for business reasons. Then the DTL Minister was interviewd as to why the IOM wasn't there to attract tourists and the Minister said it was primarily a trade show. Maybe I missed something, whilst in the turbo lift on the way to a meeting in Engineering with Scottie, but surely the interview would have been better aimed at the DTI Minister responsible for IOM Marine Administration and Super Yacht Register.
