Mij
Hello everyone. Many years ago we used to enjoy a direct IOM-Cardiff route, first with Manx Airlines and then British Airways. Then BA pulled out of just about everything and we have not been able to attract an airline serving the IOM route since. A new campaign has been launched by Cardiff airport aimed at business travellers who would use Cardiff if there were flights available, as a start or destination, but are used to flying to and from elsewhere. They are focusing on European and UK destinations. Soooooo - if you or anyone you know is a business traveller interested in this route, please fill in the 2 minute survey attached and help us remind Cardiff airport that the Isle of Man exists! cheers! http://www.youwouldifyoucould.co.uk/index.html
manxman8180
Surely you need to target airlines, as opposed to Cardiff Airport per se?
Mij
Surely you need to target airlines, as opposed to Cardiff Airport per se? The campaign is being driven by Cardiff airport precisely to demonstrate to airlines the latent demand for business routes which exists when the routes are decided later this year. The problem is that many business travellers have long been used to travelling to and from south Wales via Bristol, Birmingham or even Heathrow because the option has never been there to use Cardiff. Sneaky Dolores
I remember that Isle of Man - Cardiff route. There was one time that I had to get from Cardiff to the Isle of Man at short notice and being horrified at the price I had to pay: I could have flown to San Francisco for around £20 more if I remember things right. Pat Ayres
There's probably a very good reason why it stopped. CARDIFF FFS, That's in Wales.!
hboy
You could have a special sheep-shagger shuttle between Wales and the IOM. The Welsh sheep-shaggers who fancy a holiday could come here, and the manx sheep-shaggers could have a week in Wales. Seems too good an opportunity to pass up. It would be busy. That's something of a dyed-in-the-wool stereotype, isn't it?
