mojomonkey
Just a thought - do they want to stop tourists going to Ramsey, because they'd see the state that the pier has been allowed to get into? Errr, no. Next conspiracy theory please.
TerryMcCann
Errr, no. Next conspiracy theory please. They are cutting off Ramsey at turning it into a Centre Parcs?
TerryMcCann
Actually it is the beginning of the end for Ramsey, as predicted by me in the 2008 headlines thread Ramsey to Close

manxy
It was on the radio this evening, that there was insufficient stock to deal with the poor state of certain sections of line.
Lance
The real reason is because AE has inside information that the american spy satellite is going to hit the tramway at Ramsey when it gets shot down, and thus too risky to commit to an opening in the summer...at least the crater will be a tourist attraction. Are we finally going to get a monorail to replace it? Replace? I thought it was a long established fact that Douglas would be the only town to benefit from the wonderous monorail? Quick, a trillion of our tax pounds to Earnshaw to provide Douglas with a monorail! Better make that 2 trillion as no doubt it will need a big glass canopy of some description. I'm soooo running in the next election, I'd well give the people what they want.
thesultanofsheight
The MER closed from Laxey to Ramsey. All summer? How will the DTL replace the lost £12.75 in ticket sales we all ask ourselves? Edited. Wrong Department!

Mission
Surely it can't affect much of the line? What happened to the guys that were working on it a few years back? If they're still on the island can't they be tasked to fix the problem area?

No, a wider coast road to serve a load of new magnolia estates.
