nipper
There are 4 vacancies to join what President of Tynwald Noel Cringle has called "the best club in the world". At around £60,000 a year and guaranteed for the next 5 years, I have to agree with him. The first 4 to receive more than 13 votes from the 24 (or however many are sitting) MHKs gets the jackpot. If you could vote who would you vote for? In this forum poll you have to vote for each candidate for the results to register.

hboy
Is there some where I could get information about the candidates? You'd think there would be wouldn't you? I doubt it even warrants a report in the papers (like its any of our business at the end of the day?)

Declan
24 votes have been cast at the moment and no candidate has 13 ayes. We're just like the House of Keys.
Ean
Juan Turner is in at 14 votes from 26....bugger.
Declan
Maybe we should keep this thread open until every candidate has 13 votes - might take a while in Ms Crowe's case.
nipper
Are you meant to be able to tick every box and vote? Ooops, I dropped a clanger. Fixed now. This does however reflect on the farce that in the past has been MLC voting. Despite the rules for voting being clearly laid out in Standing Orders, various Speakers of the House of Keys just seemed to make the rules up as they went along to suit (such details available for any Tynwald anoraks out there). In this respect Tynwald Court is little different than the High Court, from my experiences.
nipper
Is there some where I could get information about the candidates? Hmmph. What on earth do you or any other non-MHK need to know about them for?
Lonan3
There's been a sudden and quite dramatic increase in the 'ayes' for existing members. Could it possibly be that some 'honourable' members are secretly signed up to the forums?
Topaz
Wannabe MLC (sitting members) on MR now. Eddie Lowey is 70 this month, and how old is Crowe?
