monasqueen
I'm surprised the Steam Packet haven't tried to bring it back into service You mean like what's its name - Seacat Isle of Man/Sea Express 1/Snaefell ? Whatever has happened to that? It disappeared into drydock months ago, and hasn't been seen since. Sounds a good idea for Liverpool winter service. It'd cost a packet to get back into running order, though. There's also a spare freighter in the sand off Blackpool
Albert Tatlock
The campaign to return the last classic Isle of Man steamer to the Mersey has failed, campaigners claim. "It is thought it would cost £7.5m to renovate the boat." What a shame. Isn't there some kind multi-millionaire or business here who can step in? It would make a great restaurant and pub and even a nightclub sat by Douglas quay or on Ramsey pier.

It is a shame but nobody would be willing to throw that much money at something unless there was a good chance of it being successful.

mojomonkey
Isn't Peel Holdings the owner of the site its on at the moment? Nope, its sitting half-sunk on the riverside in Sunderland. The suggested site in Liverpool is owned by Peel Holdings.
