Why? http://www.gov.im/lib/news/cso/governmentlookin.xml E borders and biometric data capture and the link into a national database. I am quite astounded (I shouldn't be I know) that the Government or should I say the council of ministers, has decided to go down this route without discussion within Tynwald or the Keys. Last March Questions were raised over ID cards and for the last year we have been told there is no intention of doing this, that passports would be fine for travel too and from the UK and then suddenly we find out that the council of ministers have been misinforming the public for the last year!!!! Nicely worded to be sure! Are we going to have this discussed? Are we going out to consultation? No! an executive decision has been made!
