Declan
Makes sense, if you don't like any of the candidates to spoil your ballot and hope that a better one emerges in the next round. If it had been merely Crowe vs Dr Dick I would question the sanity of anyone not spoiling their ballot.
nipper
Had there been one less MHK in the House they would have voted on David Callister alone, in accordance with Standing Orders. There was an attempt to suspend Standing Orders this morning to allow a vote on DC alone but it was disallowed. Which makes a change, them actually sticking to the Rules. In one of the more recent elections the Speaker tried to keep the house there voting all day until they eventually got one of the candidates through, until he gave up and asked for fresh nominations. That's the beauty of having your very own rules, courts and laws like the Isle of Man does - you don't have to stick to them if you don't really want to.
