manxy
My understanding is that the mayor of Douglas does not take part, or vote in, council debates - that he/she becomes, in effect, purely a figure of fun figurehead. I'd vote for Lonan3 any day as he makes me laugh constantly and as we all laugh at those in charge, we'd all be laughing together
cheeky boy
Corpys, councils, parish councils, commissioners, MHKs, Ministers, MLCs, the Bishop, the Governor It's like swimming in your own shit What this place needs is some kind of Islamic Republic I know they get a lot of bad press but at least you know what your getting: A small number of small minded lacklustre leaders with little knowledge of the outside world, electing their mates generation after generation Having said that, I do see a number of similarities.......... Jimcalagon
Seeing as London has elected Boris Johnson as mayor, maybe Douglas should elect a similar overweight buffoon/c-list celebrity with strange beliefs. Russell Grant has recently moved to the island I understand.
Declan
I'd support that proposition, but only if he had to spend that whole time in a Boris wig.

thebees
Can't be, she didn't get re-elected or can you be Mayor without being in the council?
