Hi,

As title. My sister wants a new pc and has asked me to source her one. Last time I bought a machine I had the option of either Athlon XP or p4 processors and AGP 4x and 8x. So I basically know nothing about todays kit!

She says she wants it for internet and playing flash games etc but I am sure somewhere down the line one of the kids will buy COD4 or similar and I will then have an earbashing if it doesnt work.

What would you buy with a budget of £500? Prebuilt or parts? Doesn't need an OS as I have a spare xp licence I have never used. Recommend me do :D

ebuyer for the win! parts, parts, parts and a screwdriver. 500 quid should easily get you a decent dual-core box with a bitta ram for games and other stuff. My current one arrived in parts and it's amazing how much cheaper that has worked out...

Spot on that, it's a nuts good spec for the money. Worth pricing up from Komplett I recon, I used to use ebuyer but find Komplett better, and they'll build it for you.
