cheeky boy
No paper in again this morning, half the shelves empty in Tesco How can the Steam packet possibly be complying with the terms of the linkspan user agreement when it is consistently failing to provide an adequate service ? Time to bin this monopoly and allow some healthy competition

triskelion
Is this thread a joke? What small-island ferry services are you comparing it to? Time and again the SP has been examined on these boards, and it has consistently stacked up well when it came to actual evidence. But Hell, why bother with that when you spout hollow soundbites like 'Healthy competition?' As if there is massive demand to offer a freight service to the Isle of Man What? No papers? My God! Clearly they are the most incompetant ferry service of all time! If only we had some sort of electronic media with which to receive information! Newsflash - You live on an Island! Supplies of food and other items are vulnerable! Its always been this way! Why aren't you used to it yet?!

Mission
I wonder, are we going for the record of most steam packet threads in a year this year?
monasqueen
With a "Triumph" of organisation, the Steam Packet appear to have let the chartered freighter go. Whether we will now get any freight in until Ben returns on Monday evening is the question. Oh, and presumably the papers will be late again tomorrow and Monday, because they will have to come in by plane. Quick, rush out and buy toilet rolls!! ans
Newsflash - You live on an Island! Supplies of food and other items are vulnerable! Its always been this way! Why aren't you used to it yet?! Weather Newsflash - Sunny and dry with a slight south westerly breeze. Calm sailing anticipated! People are begrudgingly accepting of cancelled sailings and delayed freight when it's due to the elements. When it appears to be an organisational issue, they're less forgiving.
