Cret Posted December 1, 2004 Share Posted December 1, 2004 Toshiba Satellite 2540CDS Laptop This Laptop works great but the backlight in the screen is faulty, meaning the backlight fades across from being not bad on the right to very dark but just visible on the left hand side. I found a website where a replacement cathode (light) can be bought for about £60 but to be honest I want a more powerful laptop than this one even though it works fine for most tasks. Specs: 333Mhz processor 4gb Hard drive 32mb ram 1 USB port Internal CD drive IR port Windows 98 installed Comes with original box & CDs etc Laptops of the same spec go on Ebay for about £250 or more so considering the fault with the screen which should be quite cheap to fix I'm looking for £120 ovno for this machine. As I say it works very well with the exception of the backlight on the screen but can still be used, just not that easily with the screen how it is at the moment. It can be plugged into a normal monitor/mouse etc in the meantime if you wanted to use it normally before fixing the backlight. I can throw in a monitor if required for another £20.
