WTF
it's a clever ( if they can be ) move on the part of the tourism/ TT brigade, there is no way politically that the chief constable/marshal will ever be held accountable for anything. give the job to an untouchable and all will be ok . on paper. now if there is an incident that warrents police investigation, they would be looking at prosecuting the boss!! never going to happen, just like with the cell bugging coverup.it's a get out of jail free card for the marshalls that fuck up. as to police involvement again?? it is ironic how the last CC said that using the police was dangerous for them etc etc, yet this herbert jumps in with both feet to take a top possition!! what has suddenly made it safe for the police to be involved again?? keyboarder
Interesting development. Does this mean that the chief marshall's responsibilities and duties are now an official part of the Isle of Man Chief Constable's job description? And therefore transferring liability for any repeat of last year's fiasco to the island's police force? Or is it a hobby to be carried out in Mike Langdon's own time? Or a second job? There's nothing like protracted death throes - I'm sure we'll all look back one day and have a little chuckle at the measures attempted to keep the money/blood/testosterone/petrol/etc flowing. I'm laughing already, lol,lol........... ; )
