Tempus Fugit
I think they burried the rule book when they first did the QB - if not long before then. believe it or not : ]
WTF
if the cone circle is small enough to let HGV's round? then surely that is how big the bollarded painted white bit should have been in the first place instead of the bin lid they could be arsed paint with it's 3 bollards? no need then for a red painted or cobbled bit either. oldmanxfella
Pathetic - blaming Joe Public by 'training' him how to use a badly designed roooondaboot. Do we all have to take an exam in a few weeks? I agree with you. The whole design is fundamentally flawed and abysmally delivered. Now its our fault for being confused by a stupid red ring that should not even have been put there in the first place. Now bollards - on a roundabout! What a bunch of complete fuckwits. Tempus Fugit
there should be no 'furniture' on a mini roundabout either ! but we all know what red road surface is, don't we ? a cycle lane !!!! but won't they get dizzy ? 16.12 Cycle lanes and cycle reservoirs (seeparas 16.20 to 16.22) may be surfaced in coloured material in order to demarcate them more emphatically and to discourage encroachment by motor vehicles. However, coloured surfacing has no legal significance; it is the prescribed traffic signs and road markings that establish the legal status of a cycle lane. Tempus Fugit
have we got a new name for the TT Races ? they seem to be now called the TT Competitions !
Jimcalagon
How is it that we have the headline "Road improvement scheme completed" dated the 27th of April and, almost two months down the line, we now have the road to be closed again as the scheme 'nears completion'? I noted this morning that the new section of road STILL hasn't been tarmac-ed. Indeed it seems that very little has happened there since April, apart from some decorative gravel and bushes planted. I know we have had the TT fortnight in that period but what the hell has been happening there for the other 6 weeks since the "Road improvement scheme [was] completed"? DjDan
the A18 Bemahague Road from its junction with Governor's Hill to the Governor's Bridge roundabout from Saturday, July 5, until Sunday, July 20. Should be the final road closures.... (that is, before they 'complete' it and later decide they have to make more alterations due to a probable mess up again!!!!). Guess they will take the opportunity to shrink the red circle so they can put all those cones back in the shed. Should be the logo of the DOT..... a cone. Says it all really. Mr. Sausages
As this roundabout was completed months ago, are we to presume that the large cones that are still in the middle of it are a permanent feature? Were they part of the original design?

There is a theory that you put the most incompetent people in government departments so that they can muck things up. You then get calls for private enterprise and consultants to get the contracts to do projects because they will do them more efficiently and effectively than government. Anyone for a good conspiracy theory?
